The SCDP announces the official opening of the application process for the 2019 James E. Clyburn Political Fellowship.
Individuals who are motivated and ready to enter the exciting and fast-paced world of politics can apply! The Clyburn Fellowship offers intensive training sessions for individuals interested in running for political office, campaign management, fundraising and consulting for local, county, and state party political operations.
Becoming a member of the Clyburn Fellowship requires a substantial time commitment. Participants are expected to attend all five weekend sessions and to fully participate in order to receive a certificate of completion. Desired Clyburn Fellows Qualifications are as follows: Dedication to the values of the Democratic Party Interest in running for or helping others achieve public office Desire to participate in the political process and to strengthen leadership skills Experience in local community activities and electoral politics Ability to excite and expand the Democratic base Willingness to learn and explore different points of view The application deadline is January 15, 2019.
